Amy spent a year at Bethel College in Newton, where she played basketball before transferring to Wichita State University. At WSU, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, along with a minor in Business Administration. After her time at WSU, she continued her education at Fort Hays State University, where she obtained a Master's in Nursing and completed her training as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).

Biography:
Amy is one of six siblings raised on a farm just outside Cunningham. Her mother worked as a nurse, while her father was both a farmer and a bricklayer. Throughout her childhood, she engaged in friendly competition with her brothers and sisters, a tradition that continues to this day. Both she and her husband are from Cunningham, and when they began their own family, they were determined to return home to raise their children surrounded by family and friends.

Amy has five children, two girls (a junior and a 6th grader) and three boys (8th grade, 3rd grade, and 1st grade) who keep her very busy year-round running to sporting events and school functions.
